no brand name place cuz they'll probably refuse to do the service since cat's make you legal :p
find a local chicago audi guy or shop to help u

No local Audi shops around here : ( I know Dave mentioned a good shop in Naperville, but I'm
not sure if I want to drive that far. I'd consider having one of my teachers at school do it, but I think the Summer semester is already over.

Downpipes are 2.5", and the (stock) catback setup is 2.25". What I'd have to do is have a
shop install pieces of 2.25" pipe, then expand one end of each to meet up with the downpipes.

WHY would you consider cutting your cats out. They are there for a reason.
Do you WANT to pollute more? Would you like it if somebody went and peed on YOUR lawn? Just a few questions for you to consider before putting more crap into the atmosphere.
Good luck - I hope your CEL issues resolve themselves without resorting to drastic measures. It it's any help, I recently heard a nasty noise coming from the same area and it turned out to be a corroded exhaust flange. $70 part made the noise & problem go away.
