Gas nozzle keeps shutting off when filling up
Anybody else have this problem? Everytime I fill up with gas the auto shutoff on the gas nozzle keeps shutting off. Sometimes it happens when I've only got a quarter of a tank full! Just started happening recently. Weird. Going in for a 10K service next week so I'll ask but have a feeling it's going to be a mystery. BTW, car's at the body shop this week having the front bumper reattached after pulling over a small parking curb stop at the office. Over $1000 damage for a very small mishap because of the poor design of the Audi front bumper which is too low. Complaining to my neighbor got the response "Oh, that happened to me three times when I had my Audi".

I had this problem with a Ford Contour. Was a twisted section of the
fuel tank filler pipe. They had a narrow section in them that made this common, was a recall on them for that. I have not heard of it in an Audi, but anything that obstructs the path between the gas cap and the tank would cause the gas/airflow to shut off the pump.
I am assuming it is not the same pump at the same station.
