German Castrol Syntec Oil still available?

So after reading many favourable threads about the german made castrol syntec motor oil, I used it for my last 2 oil changes. It was a bit hard to find, but a local Autozone stocked the weight I use (0W30). Of late, every time I've been in an auto store, I'll take a look at what oils are available and haven't been able to find the german castrol anywhere. The american version is there, but not always in 0w30. Does anyone else use this oil and having trouble finding it of late? Is the american version acceptible? I can't remember off hand why many threads said there was a difference between the american and US versions......
thanks

Red Label German Castrol.....
Audi no longer wants 0W-30 in it's cars per their oil spec sheet available on their website. German Castrol meets or exceeds all of their specs, but they don't list it.
I put GC is my avant at last change, and the a$$hole dealer flagged my file as using non compliant oil (it had been fine for the last four).

I have found it at Checker, Napa, and WalMart. Usually if it's a commercial Checker/Shucks they will have it.
