Default Got the new wheels & tires put on today. Your opinions, please.

Wheels are 18" Ronal R7s (with Audi 4-ring center caps), tires are 235/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. As for driving impressions, this set-up completely changes the car. Everything feels tighter (in a positive way). The sponginess I thought was coming from my suspension must have been largely generated by the original Conti tires, because it's gone now. The suspension feels like it's been significantly firmed up and the "floatiness" is gone. Steering response feels much better, too. The car simply has a much better feel to it than ever before.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the appearance of the new set-up. Coming off the original 16" "wine glasses", I'm not used to seeing so much open space in the wheels. Then of course there's the matter of aspect ratio. It just all takes some getting used to. Some here have already suggested that I lower; I'm considering it but to be honest there's not much room without having to deal with rubbing as these puppies are wide.

I'll get some better pics tomorrow and will post. In the meantime, I welcome your thoughts. Thanks.

Default 235's should be no problem as far as rubbing goes if u drop

most 2.7Ters run 235s- they're OEM equipment now on the new ones.

so far so good...
