I'm in the process of reassembling my 2000 A6 2.8l engine and have forgotten exactly where these parts belong to. My car has been sitting in the garage for months now and putting it together now after having my bent valves fixed is a little bit of a challenge.

I have a faint idea that they belong to the intake manifold, but I could be wrong.

How important are these? Anyone know? Thanks in advance for your help!

Throw them away.

They are guides to help position the intake manifold. The other piece of each of them is stuck in the block. Both have snapped off, which is common. Toss them.

Thank, God!!! I was dreading it because I've already reassembled the intake manifold, fuel injection rail, throttle body, and ignition coil pack.
