H-sport sways: driving impressions...
So after I finally had the wherewithal to get these on the car (with the help of chipcase's awesome write-up and Grapeking's assistance), I had a chance to take a few twists on the way to work this AM. These are AWESOME! I can't believe how much of an improvement over the factory sport setup (I had the PSK sway before). Both Grapeking and I chose the hard settings for the rear bars.
I had thought in the past that this mod was over-the-top a bit, but now that I have driven it, I am a believer. This was the best money I have spent on the car to-date! Better than wheels, tires, coilovers, carbon fiber, tint, anything! Even at full retail (which I did not pay), this is a bargain performance mod.
[...Oh, and now that they are on my car, I can disclose the deal I got...$110 shipped from S40ish, who used to have these on his 4.2 before he went to the dark side (S4). Same guy that sold me his used coilovers (with only 2k miles on them) for $525 shipped! I don't know why he sold this stuff to me for so little, but I am not complaining...]
So with the new H-sports on the car, I took a couple of my favorite on- and off-ramps this AM, and WOW! The car just stays flat.
<b>Now, I really am saying "MMM...onramps!!!"</b>
Thanks (again) Grapeking for all your help!

You stink!
I paid $300 on the first GB but fortunately, my ex-girlfriend bought me my H&R's at $1300.
You got a killer deal! and I agree, of all the mods Ive done to the 4.2 the H-Sport sway bars made the biggest difference in transforming the characteristics of the 4.2
So whats next on the mod list BostonLORD?
I'm now looking for RS4/6 mirrors, Nav+ (RNS E whatever) and........<gasp> possibly a spoiler!

Oh, forgot to add a couple of obligatory pictures...
Here is a picture of the sway bars for comparison (from top to bottom) H-sport, OEM PSK, OEM non-sport. Check out the difference in thickness between the non-sport and the H-sport!

Here is a shot of my car ready for the procedure...using the special paint can method recommended by Chipcase. Check out those melon shooters!

And no, that is not a cup of beer! I used the plastic cup to hold the loose bolts, etc...Scout's honor!
Last, but not least, is a shot of the little "Sway Bar-a-palooza" we had this weekend to do the install. From left to right, we have RWLib (who got my old PSK sway bar), Grapeking, and Boston Driver.

Next? Well...
first I have to de-winterize the car (trade your 4.2 for allroad door blades, S4 for S-line wheels), then get those Hella smoked tails on the car, then...who knows? Any suggestions?

Good for you..I am jealous..I hope to get those as soon as I can..keep us posted ..Any Warranty
problemexpected once One changes these things..
Last thing I want is a totally unrelated thing to break and for Audi to blame it on the "aftermarket" sways..

Re: H-sport sways: driving impressions...
I have a 2001 A6 4.2, but without the factory sport package. What special mods would be necessary to install these sway bars on my car?

I am not worried about any warranty stuff because of this upgrade...
because I am already over 50k miles, and just about none of the suspension components are covered by the Certified Pre-Owned warranty. Wear and tear. Besides, I have already done other suspension upgrades (coilovers, before that the Bilstein/H&R setup).
I am rally only worried about engine components at this point, which is why I am reluctant to chip the ECU for HP gain. Those turbos...I want to make sure that THOSE are covered.

Nothing needs to be done, these are plug and play...
the only thing might be a very minor alteration to the front belly pan, which amounts to removing a tiny bit of plastic so the pan does not hit the front sway bar.
