Default Has anyone actually fixed the radio drift problem by replacing the radio?

Mine has had the problem off & on since new (Jan '00), but I haven't heard on this board or elsewhere that Audi's solved the problem yet.

Anyway, I think my replacement's been backordered for 6 months.

Default my experience and fix -- finger crossed

FYI
over 6 months since my PCM replaced (NOT RADIO) and the drift problem is gone since then.

You may find in the archive of why my PCM needed to be replaced.

May be loose connection ? keep in mind the radio is not a typical radio, nowadays the car and the radio are tighly "couple" together.

anyone know, if the PCM has a capcitor to dampen any voltage spikes ?

Do you leave your radio on when shutting off the engine?

Default ALWAYS ! :-)

and even, once in a while, opening the door before turning off the ignition (there was a post stating this theory causing inpropert shut-down sequence)

I assume you are talking about the radio drifting (mine drops 10khz) when you turn off the car with the radio on and then turn it back on?

I thought maybe I was accidentaly hitting something on the wheel to make it do that. Hmmm, so it's a hardware problem...hmmm...now I'm going to mention that do my dealer.
