Has anyone done just the RS6 front bumper replacement?

....because they did it once before and not only did it take a ton of work, but the changes that they made to the body eventually "cracked." They told me that the RS6 front is wider than the 4.2, and thus they would need to do some filling in of the body and remolding of the fenders. They also told me that they really don't do custom work anymore because of this job.
Can you possibly share a little more about the experience of getting it done? I'm sure I can find the price of all the parts, but maybe a little more info about the body work would be great!
Thanks in advance.

Chris

The bodies are identical, neither is wider then the other. IIRC, the bumper mount under the skin might need to be filed slightly (were talking mm's here) but theres nothing that would crack or require the skin to be modified. Several people have acheived this look with success. If you really want it done, tell them thanks, youll find someone else (that wont feed you BS).

That does require some work to make it look right.
The RS6 is not wider than the A6 4.2 and neither the body nor the the parts need modification to bolt the parts on.
Sounds like you need to find someone who knows what the h#ll they are talking about.

It will bolt up perfectly, if you have all the right parts. There isn't ANY body work involved other than prep and paint of the new front fascia.

said something along the lines of it's impossible. funny i went by there to pick up my wifes car, they saw the job that was done and they said they never said that it was impossible. alot of people are lazy and ignorant (myself included) find someone thats stoked, usually under 30, and you'll have yourself a new front end.
