Default Has anyone here installed the aftermarket rings for the instrument clusters ?

I just wanted to see if they are worth buying.. I heard something like having to wait 24 hours to put the cluster back together once the rings are in..

The correct term is "bezel". And there is another DIY on the A4 forum.

Default do you have to use VAG-COM to reconnect the cluster?

IIRC, the gauge cluster has its own immobilizer, do you need to have a dealer (or a vag-com tool handy) to reinstall the cluster after disconnecting it?

Default I did.

Very easy really. Just took it out, put the rings in, and put it all back together. Took maybe 2 hours.

Nope. I never had any issues when I installed my Nav+.
