Has anyone replaced their (2.8) Belly Pan before? How much was it?

Identical parts have the same part number in the system, both VW and Audi. Like a B5 A4 and Passat belly pan, both of which are 4B0 863 821 S.
And from your "we all know the C5 A6 is basically a B5" comment, can we also say "we all know the D2 A8 is basically a C5", since 4 or 6 of the control arms are the same? (can't remember which, but I think it's 6)

Identical parts have the same part number in the system
which is entirely correct.
different PNs dont tell the whole story, fitment does

which is also entirely correct. VW/Audi routinely makes small changes to parts which have entirely different part numbers but have identical fit and function.
The passat W12 belly pan is the perfect example. Totally different part number, same fitment. I could name hundreds of cross platform parts with different part numbers which "work".
Dont be so quick to dismiss parts soley based on part number. How else would a temp sensor from a Eurovan be able to be used in the afterrun circuit of a 2.7TT?(by the way, I was the one who cross referenced that in ETKA)
we all know the C5 A6 is basically a B5

note the smiley face? that signifies a joke.
