Have any of you who have an A6 2.7T driven the new C6 4.2?.....

My 2.7T is much quicker and more fun to drive at altitude than the C5 4.2. Just wondering if the 35 more bhp on the new V8 makes that much difference. Is the torque much higher on the new C6 4.2? I think in the past that the 2.7T was the only Audi with more torque than hp. Is this still true?

About a month ago, I drove the new A6 4.2 at Don Rosen Audi Porsche in Conshohocken, PA. It was quick, very smooth, with a very even, consistent acceleration. The car had all-season highway tires on it, and therefore felt floaty with alot of weight shift in turns. Realizing the automatic will not drive anything like the manual, the car was still sort of boring to drive. I really shouldnt have expected to compare my car to the new automatic with those very non-performance tires! Also, the interior felt smaller, and as much as I hate to admit, lacked the overall feel that the previous Audis ive owned possessed...even a non-luxury feel or quality. Maybe it was the grayish interior color...i dont know. I will say that some of the new interior features are cool...i.e., parking brake "switch", the button near the radio that opens the glove box, and definitely, the ignition start "button." Also, the navigation system and MMI were awesome!!!...although the screen was a little smaller than I thought it should be. The MMI was very easy to use...especially after using BMW's miserable i-drive.
As much as I was looking forward to this car, and loving the new exterior i saw in photos, I must admit I am somewhat disappointed. The car felt very boring overall. Hopefully Ill grow to like the car...especially if/when an s-line version comes out. Until then, everyday I will look forward to getting behind the wheel of my 2001 2.7T 6-spd sport pkg!
