Hawk HPS Pads. Just installed yesterday and one of the pads is very noisy...
I expect them to make some noise until they are broken in, but the noise is very loud and it only is coming from one wheel. Initially, I was going easy on them, but now I've made lots of hard stops to try to speed the process. It doesn't seem to be making much of a difference. The noise is still quite loud.
Does anyone have experience with these pads? Are they normally very noisy?
Thanks.

The installer used some DBQ on the pad back. The noise has magically disappeared, though...
so I guess that it must have been a function of the pads not having been fully bedded yet.
Thanks.
Thanks.

New pads on used rotors will cause significant noise until the surfaces mate exactly - thru wear.
If it is a high pitched squeal and not a metal-on-metal grinding noise I would say give it a few more days and see if it reduces. Sounds normal at this point to me.
