Hello,
The Headlights of the AUDI A6 4.2 V8 are different from the Headlights of 4 cylinders and the 6 cylinders.
RIGHT ??
Does someone know what are the difference between the Headlight?
Is it possible to put a V8 Headlight on a 2.7T or a 2.8?
Thank you.
Claudy.

I think this has already been asked and answered. Do a search. But, IIRC, yes you can put headlights from a 4.2 on a 2.7 or 2.8 but you have to also change the hood, bumper, grill and maybe other parts. And if you're talking Xenons, there are other changes - wiring, ballast, etc. So why would you want to?

The pre-2002 A6 (non 4.2) has a different headlight housing than the 2.8, 2.7T and the allroad.
FYI - You wouldn't gain anything by doing this. However, the 2002+ A6 (all models) came with a 90MM xenon projector that is high/low beam capable. All pre-2002 models only came with a 60MM and not bi-xenon.
Search the forum, I've answered this question several times in the past.

is the US, the folks do not understand the term 4cyl. They do not have anything as humble as that so there may be a little confusion, they could think you are completely mad?
The answer is NO, stick with 4/6 cyl headlights as the front end of the V8 is longer and slightly taller to accomodate the engine.

Does this mean that 2000 4.2 headlight housings can take a 90mm bi-xenon projector?
Does anyone have the part number for the bi-xenon projector (left and right)?
Thanks in advance.
