The housing on my pump cracked (big surprise).
I'm not too keen on dropping $50 on a new pump...
I don't see any big detriments to getting rid of the headlight washer pump (and obviously keeping the windshield washer system intact).
Anybody have some input or suggestions?
Thanks
here's a pic of the car in question:

A body plug--the kind that the factory uses to seal up holes under a unibody--could be used to very effectively seal up the vacated washer pump hole left in the washer fluid reservoir.
Most any VW/Audi dealer's parts department will carry such plugs and can search for the proper plug you need by the hole diameter you specify.

Non compos mentis. The housing is broke...clamping the hose would still let the fluid leak out.

Does the headlight washer motor still work? You can try heat-welding the pump housing with some polypropylene and a soldering gun. Use low on the gun.
worst case if you hole the housing and can't repair it, just fill it up with jb weld epoxy and pull the connector off the motor. It shouldn't leak....

Thanks for the info/suggestions!
Can you give me a little more info on polypropylene? I've never done plastic welding before.
Nice avant by the way

It's kind of like welding p-tex only much more touchy.
There's actually a school on it (google is my friend).
