Heated Seat problem

I have an issue with my 2001 4.2's heated sport front drivers seat, whether the dial is on 1 or 6 the seat cushion and back doesn't heat yet the rhs bolster on the base heats up to an uncomfortable level.
Is the rest of the heated seat easy-ish to fix? And why does the bolster get soo hot irrespective of the setting?

Just guessing, but perhaps all the power is going to just the bolster because of opens on the other elements and/or the rheostat is shorted.
Check the wiring diagram and see how the rheostat is wired, i.e., does the rheostat control all the circuits in the seat or just one and the all the seat elements are in parallel.

Because the heat temp sensor is not seeing heat from the seat cusion element. These seats have four elements, seat/seat bolster and backrest/backrest bolster, check the fuses and conections under the seat.
