I had the exact same problem in my 2001 2.7T. Just got it back from the dealer who replaced the cabin fan motor. They said this is a common thing to go.
No more chirping now.

My '02 did the same thing when I would step on the brakes
or when the front suspension compressed going over a bump. Dealer finally replaced the AC blower motor. They never heard it though. Would happen only at 3 or 4 setting and would stop when speed changed, then happened at all speeds. Remained sporatic until replacement which cured it.

Just need to follow steps 1 and 2. Part of the blower motor can be seen in the sixth picture (upper right corner....this pic....

Just disconnect the blower connector and remove all the bolts holding the blower in. It'll take one about 30 minutes.
