Default Hello, I'm new and have a quick question.

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/33185/a6_quattro.jpg"></center><p>Hello. I just purchased my first car last month, a 98' A6 2.8 (I know, I know all of you Turbo owners live by the T, this was all I could afford). I did however have some extra cash which I put right into a new wheel and tire set up, the RS4 17" wheel and Yokohama high performance all season's. Everything else I wanted was there (except Xenon's) which brings me to my first question. I apologize if this question has been asked before. I was looking to upgrade either the low bulbs or the entire headlamp(if possible, where?) and would like to know what recommendations are out there (aside of Lltek and aftermarket headlamp upgrade kits). Either a resource for authentic Audi Xenon headlamps or an aftermarket bulb which will not fry out the circuitry or burn anything. Any info is appreciated, thanks everyone.

Wow, your car looks great ... are those wheels off an A4 sport?

Default Thanks, I have one more question too.

<center><img src="http://collection.audiusa.com/audi_assets/images/product/1130_z.jpg"></center><p>You know, I followed the rs4.org website for a little while and loved the look of the 18's they have. I also saw them on 01' TT's and assorted RS6's and other Audis in Japanese magazines. Living in Chicago and reading the nightmare stories about how fast the 18" RS4 wheel bent worried me so I took the advice of nearly everyone (Audi dealer, Tirerack and other forums) and went with the 17" version which is actually called the RS4 wheel (available for $450/ea with center caps from AoA's web site). Later to find out that indeed they were the wheel sports upgrade for the 00,01 A4's. Threw on 235/45/17 Yokohama high performance all seasons from Tirerack to complete the package. Thanks for the complement. Any advice on those Xenons?

Another question, does anyone know the exact name of the wheels that came stock on the 98-00 A6? Id like to sell my old wheels and tires.

I just purchased a used 98' A6 2.8 as well. I have one question, where is your radio antenna? Mine has an antenna mast on the rear quarter panel.

Default Yes... they're called "Wine Glass Alloy" wheels...

BTW the wheels you have aren't the same as the A4 sport wheels... look closely and they are different. Yours are much better looking, IMO. =)

No idea on the xenons, sorry.

Default Re: Hello, I'm new and have a quick question.

I was told the antenna only worked for the telephone system (which I have no interest in) so I removed the antenna and loosened and lowered the antenna base. I went to Home Depot and picked up a black plastic plug and inserted it into the rubber casting which cradles the antenna base (so no water would drip into the trunk). The radio still works flawlessly and it now looks like the antenna is supposed to be down and I love the sleekness of it much more. I admit though, I removed the little black rubber area left over in Photoshop (for the image) as did I my license plate.

I think I'll wait for my wife to back into something and have it removed at the body shop.

Default Nice Looking Ride!!!! You can't really upgrade to Xenon by just replacing the bulbs-->

you must buy one of the expensive kits with I believe new housings etc. If you want to just put new bulbs in that have the "look" of Xenon try the address below. I bought new bulbs for my fogs that give them the same color tone as my Xenons. If you want to go ahead with the full Xenon upgrade try here--http://www.hella.com/index.htm<ul><li><a href="http://www.aieonline.com/71/1053.htm?848">http://www.aieonline.com/71/1053.htm?848</a</li></ul>

Default Xenons are a complete change out if you go with Audi. I believe that the aftermarket lamps can

work but have no proof myself. The OEM Xenon info came from a dealer service rep.
