Default Help! 1995.5 S6 brake question

Went to put in new pads/rotors on the rear but am finding that I cannot compress the caliper piston back into place. I have a spreader/compressor kit that's always served me well, but the pistons literally don't budge.

Am I missing something here, like a proportioning valve (I am jacking up one side at a time) or something? Or is it possible that the pistons are just frozen and I need to replace them (seems likely to me at this point)?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
Jeff

They screw in, don't just push straight. Get the correct tool.
