Help - EPC light and no gas pedal response after car wash
I just took my '00 A6 2.7T 6spd to the car wash. When I pull away, the ESP and Check engine light come on. The car is in limp mode with no power, but it drives smoothly. I drive 2 miles home, and when I arrive, the car idles, but the gas pedal won't accelerate the engine - it's like it's disconnected. So now it's halfway up my driveway and I can't drive it up. What gives here? Did something short out from the carwash? Did something come loose? I don't have access to one of the VAG tools.

Hmmmmm. I had similar. Mine after wash lost speedo (needle all over the place) and when you let off throttle, car decelerated with a jerk. Car was fine the next day.
Gotta be water in a connector.

UPDATE
Well here's some more information. After reading some posts on the DBW system, I started the car, took off the parking brake, tapped the brake and the gas a few times and voila! The engine revved again. I put the car back into the driveway. Both lights are still on. 30 seconds later I decide I should swap my wife's car (in the garage) with mine. I start up and pull in. Both lights still on. Turn off. Oops, didn't pull in enough. Start again - this time the EPC light is NOT on, but the Check engine is on. I checked all the tubes, connectors and hoses that I could easily get to from the top of the engine and there's nothing wrong that I can see. So I throw up my hands and park it. What to do about the light? Should I be concerned if it doesn't go away tomorrow?
One other thing struck me - as I was pulling away from the car wash, I had my hand brake on for about 6 feet by mistake. It was during this time that the lights both went on. I dropped the handbrake and drove home. Is there any relationship?

Maybe your Audi didn't like you going through an automatic car wash!
Why would you drive your car through one of those? I never have,,,never will. Always wash by hand...even in these cold winter days (5 degrees here today).

Well, it turned out to be a bad throttle position sensor. They have to order a part but it will easily be fixed. Thanks!
