Default Don't do it, Chuck. The E60 might not be so bad!

These Audis are going to be too heavy and underperform compared to the bimmers. Look at the new S4. The performance numbers so far on that car leave something to be desired. I can only assume that same will be true with any near-future Audi engines.

From a styling standpoint, though, you're right. BMW seems to be on the way out.

Default According to The Car Connection...

and several other automotive sources, the new S6 is due out in 2005 for 2006 with the new RS6 due out in 2006 for 2007. A few people here on AW have also indicated this. I believe that the eventual trend with Audi's S and RS cars is that the S cars will come out one year after the A cars and the RS cars one and a half years after the A cars. This is to increase desirability and improve image and resale value throughout the line up.

Default Don't be so sure

The new A6 is supposed to have a breakthrough overall design with construction that will either be aluminum intensive or all aluminum. Curb weight is supposed to be anywhere from 200-225 pounds lower than the current car. Many of the cornucopia of enhancements made to the redesigned A6 (too many for me to list here) will help engineers acheive a weight distribution substantially closer to that of 50/50 front/rear. April also indicated this here on AW a few times and even on BMW Roadfly one time a few months ago. I also read this on a website for a few European Automotive journalists (one of those being either Autobild or Auto Motor und Sport).

Default IMO too, the new grill looks terrible

At least it does in the above PS pic of the new A6 posted by Chuck. But that is just a poor and fake looking PS pic. See my message from earlier this morning titled "I agree that the PS pic above is not exactly a trendsetter or benchmark for styling/design" posted at 10:51:37 on 2003-03-17. I seriously doubt the new A6 will look that awful, with or without styling/design cues similar to that PS pic of that new A6. In fact, I believe that Audi will end up doing a very nice job with the Auto Union Racer style grille on the new A6.

Default Hey Audi, take note of this message posted by Potomac 2.7T

He is hitting the nail right on the head here. Also, good advice is often difficult to come by these days. I am not being sarcastic here. I am as serious about this as a heart attack. I give everyone here my solemn oath about this, too.
