Help-rear view mirror haze
Hi, I have a question about my 2000 MY 2.7T. Recently, after the car was parked outside, noticed an oval portion of the interior rear view mirror with a 'glazed' appearence, which gradually increased to completely cover the mirror. The next morning saw some 'fluid' stain on the shifter leather cover below the mirror( could easily be wiped off). The mirror continues to be slightly hazy. Any ideas?

that is the autodimming fluid leaking, you'll have to replace the whole mirror...
there is no "fix" for a leaking mirror. If you alreay have the premium package with the autodimming mirrors, this could be an oportunity to upgrade to a compass mirror...they appear on the classifieds every now and then for around $200. Plug-n-play for you.

Mirror crapped out, might be a good time to upgrade to the mirror w/ compass! :)

That liquid you see...
Is propylene carbonate with an acrylic polymer and electrochromic dyes (a viologen and phenazine) dissolved in it. Once these organic dyes are exposed to oxygen, they're shot. Time for a new mirror.
