Default help w/service light

I got a 2000 2.7t A6 six speed a couple months ago, service light came on. So I changed the oil and filter. Went to reset service light, then found out I didn't get an owners manual. crappy..... I've heard this is a fairly simple thing, but I wouldn't know. Any help from everbody in Audi Land?

Default Did you look in the slot under the steering column?

That where I found mine - after I bought another.

Default And if there isn't one in the slot that 4Driver4 told you about,

buy one here, after they've rebooted their server. Our A6 is in Lexington with the kid, or I'd look.

Default FYI - The service light can only be reset with a VAG COM...

which you do not have. You can find out if anyone local to you has one so they can clear the service light for you. Changing the oil and filter does not make the light go away...it is triggered by the odometer.

Default Re: help w/service light

try this, i found it in another post

1) press right silver button in & hold(Odometer reset button) (with car off)
2) turn on ignition w/o starting car
3) turn left silver button counterclockwise, hold until it says "Service in XXXX"

hope it helps.
