Default WOW that looks bad. I was surprised mine held out.I am not easy on my car.

And I tracked it,used race gas and toulene. I threw everything I could at those turbos.

I'm thinking the brass bearing isnt the issue, its the fan and/or shaft.

Default Are they still out? Grab the shaft and see if it moves side to side any significant amount...

That would be a sign that the bearings are wearing out.

Doesn't seem to move much at all! one does very very slightly.

Default You should be fine as long as it isn't significant in any direction - check up and down also.

Small amounts of play will receive dampening from the oil. It has to be bad enough to let oil blow by the seal, which you would expect to see in the exhaust (hopefully) before the blades make contact with the housing.

Looks like with 120,000 miles my KO3's were going strong! I love the KO4's!!!

super old post but id like to add i have a 2001 2.7t with stock ko3 with no leaks, no play and still running strong. oh i should add they have 174k on them.
