outside. Grey squirrel(s) are placing walnuts in my under-carriage so that whey I'm driving 40+ mph they intermittentantly dislodge and make that horrible bang noise under the car when
falling away and recontacting the car bottom as they pass. Often I can see the nut flying/bouncing back towards car behind me.
How do I know this is the problem? My home office faces the parking area and I watch the 'lil bas*ar# raise off their hind legs under the car to stash the nuts.
So here's where I'm at so far:
1) pick em off with BB gun (nope, a miss means a nasty BB ding in the car)
2) place anti-freeze in a dish under car (not sure they would like it and it is just mean)
3) try and take photo to post (it is funny too see)
In the end, it has got to stop. I keep knuckling the steering wheel each time that loud undercarriage "bang" happens. Hmm?

In Germany there are animals called a Marder (translated to English it's called a Marten). They have a habit of finding engine bays nice and warm in winter so they go under there and like to bite any cables they find hanging down.
Over here in Germany they sell small electronic things you can hook up to your car battery that emit a high pitched tone once every 10 seconds or so. The little buggers don't like it apparently. I imagine squirrels wouldn't either. Here's one in Germany (scroll to the bottom to see it). You must have similar things over there.
