Hey carbonLORD, Did you use the G2 black paint for your brake calipers?

Got started with cleaning everything last night and am about to start the actual painting tonight. Anything I should know about? I did a search and saw someone suggested mixing half the paint and hardner because the stuff set up pretty fast. Did you have any problems with that?
Also, I'm assuming you did all four calipers. How many coats did you get out of the kit?
Thanks and best wishes in your repair...

...I was quite happy with the results.

I did follow that bit of advice and mixed half at a time. My advice would be to mix a quarter at a time (if possible) because it does dry extremely fast. Also, don't go crazy with the cleaning spray they include as it runs out quickly and get some better paint brushes (a half inch and 1" will do) as the generic brush which comes with the kit should go directly in the trash.
The kit has enough for 2 coats I suppose but I used one coat and laid it on heavy. Had just enough for all 4 calipers and only let it sit for 3-4 hours before I was off and away. (Good way to kill time is to clean and wax the inside of your wheels.) They suggest allowing it to dry overnight but I have no garage and a year later, through Chicago's brutal winter, the stuff is as good as the day I applied it. Well worth the $50 spent.

The 17" Celebration wheel offered in 99-00 had similar issues as the OEM 18" RS4 wheels found only on European RS4 autos where the metal used was too soft.
What I have are 2002 RS4 Type 17's with the stronger alloy. Purchased them from my dealership.<ul><li><a href="http://collection.audiusa.com/store/accessory.asp?parent%5Fcategory%5Fid=11&catego ry%5FID=49&subcategory%5FID=203&product%5F id=1130">RS4 Wheel on Audi USA website</a></li></ul>
