Hood painting

I had a slight accident that did result in getting a new hood. I am frustrated because I have now had it painted three times and it still looks blotchy under flouresent lights. Another body shop said it is called modeling - where the metalic in the silver paint is not applied evenly.
Anyone else run into this problem? I am going to have it done again but am looking for another shop. I am affraid to try again since every shop seems to say no probem until done and then they all say silver is a hard color to get right. Original shop used Dupont paint, another shop said they use a German paint that is better. One shop said they can paint over once more without stripping since it was stripped last time. Other shop said it has to be stripped.
Help!

I had the hood, bumper, 1/4 panel done. German paint, blah, blah, that's all bull****. Most high end paint is pretty close to the same quality. Besides, most German car companies buy paint from US companies (for at least some of their cars). You should be able to ask them for the exact kind of paint that will be using.
Also, ask them for a step by step on how they will match and paint the car. The way it SHOULD be done (but not very often is) is to take a piece of metal that they can experiment on. They then apply primer, paint, etc., etc. When it comes to painting it with the metalic substance, they try different settings on a test piece of metal. They should then finish it out and see which level of metallic most closely matches your car. Then they have the correct setting and a feel for what your coat should look like. You can't just "eyeball" metallic colors, but most shops try to anyway.
Hope that helps,

Don't have the invoice unfortunately:
bumper patched up and repainted
new 1/4 panel
repaint hood, 1/4 panel, and bumper
$1300 at a pretty good place, insurance negotiated it down to $1100
