How do I remove the concert radio if one of the internal tabs is broken?
When you insert the factory tools in it, it doesn't catch on the right side. The guy at the dealer told me I needed to take apart some of the stuff in the dash to manually release the springs. What do I need to take apart?

Are you buying a new radio? Here is what I did when i had the same problem.
Since I had a new radio and didn't care I took the circle end of a box-wrench and inserted in into the tape player. I then turned it sideways to catch inside and then i pulled like a ****. I wiggled the tools while I pulled hard and it came out.
I was thinking about taking apart some of the surroundings but when I examined my new radio it didn't look possible.

the interal clips are difficult to access...
...here is how the clips work on the Symphony II:
The radio removal key is tapered and basically "pulls" the clip inward to release it from the dash.

I use this photo to explain how to remove the keys properly from the headunit, by pressing the clips further inward to allow the keys to slide out.
If a clip is bent, and you cannot use the key in that slot to "pull" it in to release, it is next to impossible to get at the clip becuase of how the center console is constructed. You might have to sacrifice the headunit and get a new one. If you need a new radio, contact Carson at Riverside...I just got a NEW Symphony II for just over $100!!!

I have this plastic tool, not sure exactly what it is,
but it was in a bag with some cell or XM radio phone mounting hardware when I bought the car.
it's kind of like a carpenters pencil in shape, but made of a flexible plastic that will not damage the dash pieces.
-My radio was jammed as you describe, and I tried and tried to pull with no luck. One day, I tried to pry around the edges of the radio with that plastic tool and all removal keys inserted. it worked absolutely perfectly, and took 10 seconds.
I will use this tool every time from now on, it's amazing. - I had to repair my hazard flasher as well, and again -10 second removal of trim pieces.
-I'll take a picture of this thing when I get a chance.
