How do you perform the tranny re-code?

How do you perform the tranny re-code?
Is it s simple "plug in the VAG" and punch in the code?
Or is it more complicated. If so, how much more complicated is it?
I've been tempted but shunned the idea as I was under the impression that you had to be '00 and up since I'm a '99.
But according to an earlier post it doesn't matter.

It's really easy....
1) Open up the "02-Auto Trans." module.
2) Select "Recode-07".
3) Where it shows your "Software Coding" input your new code. On your '99 the only one that takes is 00010.
4) Click "Do it" and your done.
Note: To recode the tranny you'll want the key ON but the engine OFF (not running). Otherwise it won't recode.
