there is nothing wrong or change to the behavior of my A6 4.2 2000. Just one day this light comes on for no reason how do i reset or turn off this malfunction indicator lamp. has anyone had this problem? thank for help

To my knowledge, it goes out when the problem is resolved/goes away.

There are so many diagnostic things in the computer there is no way (without the right tools) to tell what may be wrong.

I had a small vacuum leak cause this. I could not tell any difference with the car, asside from the MIL indicator.

I would suggest scheduling a service appointment.
