How do you test the secondary air valve

Got some 17531- codes. How do you test for vaccum to the secondary air valves?

vacuum gauge at the valve. i assume you are speaking of the combination valve?

That would be the valve. Does the valve get vaccum when engine is cold or warm and where is the solonoid that controls this?

the valve gets vacuum when engine is cold. Control valve is usually near TB or on top of mani.
