It's a front wheel drive car. When you accelerate, the torque on the front wheels makes the car want to turn. You can feel this through the steering wheel.

The power is applied to the front wheels unevenly through the FWD transaxle,
which makes the car pull to one side on application of power. This is obviously more apparent in a more powerful car. The most overt cause is the different length of the front shafts, but a number of issues, including the angle of the shaft from the center diff to the wheel, can affect it. It is especially pronounced in turbo cars, but affects all powerful FWD cars. Talk to any owner of a Caddy STS. TCS can help but only a bit. Saabs are notorious for having lots of torque steer.

Better explanation...
Thanks! I knew about the different length shafts affecting it but I couldn't remember the shaft angle aspect. There is another one that is a mignificant factor and I couldn't remember it either. <sigh>
