How many cycles to clear a CEL

How many cycles to clear a CEL
1st- I did STFA
My CEL came on. I checked the gas cap and it didn't appear to be on tight(I was late and freezing cold last fill up...)
I saw posts about it clearing after so many cycles- any idea how many??
I am hopeful its just the gas cap, just dropped a bunch on a new TB/WP, etc.. week prior. If it doesn't clear soon I'll bring it in to have the codes checked. If the shop missed a vacum hose I would think it would have been on right away.

a CEL is so much more than than a gas cap...
get a VAG and scan it, but you may not want to clear them. Clearing them does not treat the cause.. only the symptom (CEL) and if the cause is real it comes back anyway. Diagnose first...then cure..this will then lead to clearing.
