How many here would buy this hypothetical car.

2007 Mercury Cougar. Based on the new Mustang (above) GT, with OHC V8, independent rear suspension, 6 speed or auto-manual, killer interior with touches from the Ford GT (billet switchgear, etc.), $39,000. An "adult" pony car.
I think it's a no-brainer. Ford and GM keep trying to make pony cars, but the people who are drawn to them are in their 40s and 50s (youth want Evos and WRXs). Give me a pony car that I won't be embarrassed to be seen in. Mercury Cougar is the solution. The god-awful cars that last carried that name are long forgotten, and it still resonates with my generation.
PS: It is hypothetical, and I waive any fee from Ford if they decide to do it!

That's a car I could be interested in
As my children (5 and 8 yo) become less dependent on me carting them around, I'll be looking at a more personal car to replace the A6.
I'll still need 4 seats (2+2 maybe?), but I want something that cruises, not necessarily carves. A cougar could be a good choice if it's focus is more akin to the T'bird and less akin to the Mustang GT.
I know... I'm getting old.
