Wifey, she is concerned our 5 yr old with 54K wont last THAT long. Of course her point has nothing to do with any fact, she just thinks the car is 5 years old and by the time we hit 100K it will be nearly 9-10 years old.

No issues. Engine and transmission have never been apart for anything but normal maintenance.
The 2000 A4 (also bulletproof 2.8) is at 140k.

My 112k 2.7 has been great <knock knock>...and it's been through more than the average car on the road. :P
100k used to be a lot of miles on a car...now it's peanuts; tell her to start worrying when it's 10 years old or has 200k+ miles.

Don't get me wrong every car is different.
Just recently I installed a control arm kit, when my mechanic showed me the old parts, I felt lucky that the entire suspension didnt collapse while I was driving on the freeway. Every peace was failing, it was a sad sight.
My mechanic had it all installed for 2 hours labor= $100 which, is a steal.

I've had my 2003 A6 for 3 weeks now and I'm loving it more each day. For the last 2 days I've been driving around in a loaner 2007 A6 while they tried (and failed miserably) to install a USB adaptor for audio.
I have to say, it was such a relief getting back in my C5. It drives so much better than the C6. I had seriously been thinking that in 2 years or so I'd probably upgrade to a 2006 A6 (C6) but now I'm 100% sure I won't. The MMI is not nice to use while driving. OK I only had it 2 days and I'd probably get used to it. When they gave me that C6 2 days ago I was worried I might like it too much and be disappointed when I got my C5 back but it was quite the opposite
