Thanks for the replies, guys. Very helpful in getting this 'ol 4.2 back on the road. The next pair of issues I'm tackling is an errant coolant temperature gauge that sits on the cold stop, even though the engine is hot, then it bounces up to the middle 12:00-1:00 position; then drifts back and forth down to the cold range again; all while driving/idling, no matter. I'm thinking of finding the sensor and just replacing it. The other issue I just noted is a drip of antifreeze coming off the belly pan/dust shield; green in color like snot. But the coolant in the fill reservoir on top is pink/red in color. Two colors of coolant? Do they have this decorated for Christmas, red and green (ha!)? Any ideas would be welcome. I'll be pulling the belly pan off next weekend and giving it a look.
