have the factory Bose option (also have 6-disc changer in rear)?? I have a 99 A6. My friends 98 A4 2.8 has a very similar setup in his car and his factory deck shows the word "Bose" when he turns it on. Mine does not, but I've heard you can turn this feature on/off on the Concert stereo systems.
How do I determine if mine IS in fact the factory Bose stereo?
TIA! =)

i could be wrong but...
...i was under the impression that the bose system mearly changed the preamp (and some of the settings in the actual radio unit). the rest of the setup: speakers, radio unit, wiring, etc. should be the same.
i think i remember this as an earlier post...

yes this is what i thought as well, which is why it seems to be a switchable function within the
head unit - but from the posts below, it may seem that we are incorrect?

well, the head unit settings you could change easily, but the preamp, not unless you switch it out
fyi...my bose system does have the bose logo on the speakers, but mine's an '04. my friend's '03 a4 has the logo too...
