I have been SingTFA. What is the current thinking on best sport suspension for a C5 Avant?

Default I have been SingTFA. What is the current thinking on best sport suspension for a C5 Avant?

I'm getting very serious about converting my allroad to a coilover suspension. The problem is that there is no such thing as a 2.7T Avant so no suspension application for it. I am stuck with a sedan suspension or one for the 2.8 or the S6. What choice might be best?

The H&Rs look nice as hell and I like to patronize AWE, but I don't think they have an Avant specific application. For those here with avants - have you tried a sedan suspension? It seems that with the adjustability of coilovers that you could tune it someone to compensate for the Avant body but I am just guessing.

Default Schwank did coilovers for his Avant...

I think they were H&R. Not sure what is involved in taking out the air suspension in the allroad and replacing it with coilovers...has anyone done that on the allroad forum?

Default STaSIS? You can order custom spring rates with their Motorsport kit, iirc...

I think you can even exchange springs if you're not happy with your choice.

Default I am the guinea pig (as usual being on of the earliest owners). I'll figure out the conversion...

issues first with a 'test suspension' I am borrowing locally. I'm borrowing a take-off OEM suspension from an A6 sedan for test fitting. If that works out I will buy a coil-over setup but wasn't sure what would be the best option giving there is no fitment for 2.7T Avant.

Default Good idea, but I live the option of cranking the suspension up a little for winter if necessary.

This is not a deal breaker so I will consider a custom spring setup if necessary. Thanks for the info.

Default The S4 guys who have switched to it say that it's worth every penny...

If money is no object, I don't think it has any competition. It's supposedly very supple on the street as well (when adjusted accordingly).

Default Yeah. I think that might be over the top for me.

that must be the "motorsport" option. I believe they have a lower range "enthusiast" version with standard Koni dampers and I presume choice of spring rates.
