underneath the car. Can anyone tell me what it might be? And can anyone recommend a shop in the NYC area. Thanks.

radiator thermo switch. The black plastic "belly pan" was catching all the coolant.
Took about three or five months for the leak to get bad enough for me to find. Don't forget I have a 1997 A6.
Look for any abnormal fogging on your windshield too, it could be a heater core problem.
Only add de-ionized water ($1 a gallon at the grocery store) or Audi/VW red.....uness you get in a bad jam where anything is better than nothing.

I dont get fog in the windsheild but I do get fog when it rains alot. and I dont think it's ion the plastic cover underneath the car because I did a oil change and nothing was there. I will have the water pump changed and have the heater core check out.
