Default I have removed my radar detector...

...because I have grown tired of explaining to my son exactly why it is there and why it makes noise. How can I expect him to follow rules if I use a device daily that is meant to help me break the rules?

Anyway, see links in my sig. Just thought I would mention that the remote display that I made (featured in an AW Tech Article: https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec104.shtml) is also for sale.

good move. I don't find myself needing to speed much anymore anyway: it wouldn't make much of a difference to my commute time, and I'd rather use the ticket $ towards mods or photog gear

there are ways to explain & there are ways ... for ex. "Daddy has this to remind him when the police are looking for speeders so Daddy can be sure that he's not speeding ...."

simple, truthful ... he doesn't need to know the whole truth yet.

Can't you just tell him to STFU?...or is that considered bad parenting these days?

Sorry, if that's bad advice. No kids here, so I'm a little out of the loop in handling these situations.

Good for you in leading by example.

I'd just tell him it's a police locator, just in case you need a cop.

Come on, only a toddler is going to fall for that...BD Jr is well beyond that and will see right through that one. Where's the example there, only to be revisited 8 years down the road with keys in hand...

Too risky....many years from now, nursing home brochure in hand, the girls will be making a very important decision....remember when dad said....

Of course, it may be too late already...you'll bail me out, right?
