I installed the gromaudio ipod integration kit into my S6 last night...
first impressions this morning are great. It does a couple cool things. If you select CD1 in changer mode, you have complete control over the iphone either through the radio controls or via the iphone itself. slick. if you select cd2-cd6, you lose control of the actual iphone, and the adapter automatically plays the first six playlists on the phone, like they were cd's. you can still skip songs, etc via the radio controls.
the install was straightforward, i only ran into a couple issues. The first being that the damn radio did not want to come out! I finally muscled it out, the face of the radio actually came off the body on the left side, I was worried for a minute until I saw that it was connected via two little connections and secured via two screws on each side of the faceplate. easy fix.
the second issue was that there isn't enough room behind the deck to wedge the adapter. i ended up putting it in the little slot below the steering wheel. it wedged in perfectly, and i ran the cable behind the radio console. great fit.
I did have to cut half of one of the connectors off, as referenced at http://gromaudio.com/pie-audi-how-to.html
Dremel ftw.
now my only decision is where to run the ipod cable... I was hoping to snake it through the in dash cupholder and rig some sort of dock in the cupholder, but that is looking difficult. i hate having exposed cables, so any ideas would be appreciated.
I'll try to post pics of where i put the adapter later tonight.
