The idiots made the transmissions saying they never had to service it. Which allowed them to say the maintence costs were lower on this car compared to company x's. If only people were smarter back then....

So after I filled it, I started the car and let the fluid warm up to 35°c. After that I went to reverse, held for four seconds, then to drive, held, to neutral and then to park. During this it felt like the brake pedal was doing the ABS thing when you slam the brakes. But when I put it into park, there was grinding. Really loud grinding. I quickly put it into neutral, then turned the car off. Wtf was that about????

Never mind. It hadn't occured to me that trying to accelerate while the tires weren't touching the ground may lead to a few implications

Not true.

ZF always had service intervals. VAG is the one who said it did not need service, (and even that was not absolute.)

Default What Audi says and what ZF says are two distinct things.

ZF has always said change the ATF between 30-50K.

So I figured out my output speed on the transmission is 0. Even when my car is in first gear for two seconds and moving.

Default Yes, like wheels don't stop turning when they're off the ground!

At least not for awhile.
Have to brake between R/D gear changes.

And yes, you really need to replace the pan or fix the ATF fill plug. The drain and the fill are different; the fill is in that tower you seen when the pan was off. Unless you damaged the drain plug you're simply not turning it widdershins hard enough. The photo shows no damage..so grow a pair and turn it out! If it breaks, replace the pan.

Lastly, before you rebuild or replace the trans consider removing the valve body and checking the solenoid/valves and the governor/speed sensor and cleaning them. At least one guy on the forum had a clogged sensor if not clogged solenoid/valves.

If the rest of the car is good, do a 6 speed MT conversion!
