With all the recent threads on mods, I wonder if we need to form a coalition to classify which items are worthy of the mod or upgrade label. Seems like there are three levels:

Level 1 ("L1" for short): Accessory add-ons
Definition: Can include the installation of any OEM or aftermarket item without doing permenant damage to you vehicle. Can also be easily removed from vehicle without the potential for damage.

Level II ("L2" for short): Upgrades
Definition: Usually reserved for those large ticket items that can be removed from you vehicle without permenant damage. The reversal of said upgrade might require special tools, equipment and knowledge (not resident to the sub-average DIY)

Level III ("L3" for short): Modifications
Definition: Can mean that you alter some part or component in your car that cannot be easily reversed and might impact your factory or extended warranty. Can also include an item from Level 1, if you take that item and make permenant changes to it.

I'll let you all figure out which items belong to each category.

Ok. Back to work for me.....

Default Just what we need... another reason to tell people to STFA

So they can understand what L1, L2, and L3 mean.

Default And didn't BD define the mod as "something changed from stock"?

If so then most of us have 8 mods in rims and tires alone, 10 if you did the spare as well!!

Default MOD: See modifcation: Anything other than what is standard equipment.

MOD King: See TeddyBGame; One who can not wait to dump that which is standard and can be modded.
