Default I think my car was built during Octoberfest.....

2000 Audi A6 4.2 - 10,120 Miles -
As of yesterday, this car was in the shop for
a total of 28 days for unscheduled service.
This morning the radio was "detuned" and the brakes started to fail. The dealer just advised they are going to order the 3rd replacement radio, and the entire master cylinder needed replacement(2-3 more days in the shop.
I think I know why alot of 2.7T and 4.2 owners that post to this site list their current car as a model year 2001 or 2002, and their former car as a 2000.
I have had the following cars over the past 6 years-BMW530I 540I 740I, JAGUAR XK8, LEXUS GS400-
and even with all the unscheduled Audi service calls, I have kept the A6 4.2 the longest, and
I am considering getting a 2002 4.2 -
Am I crazy?????????????

Yes. Anybody who goes through that line-up of cars (6 in 6 years) is likely never satisfied.

Default You are wrong ..............

I was satisfied with every car.
I had a problem for a while and was changing cars to often, but I received help and now I am
trying to get my life in order and keep a car for awhile.... I am just pissed that the car I intended to keep has had all this work done to it with only 10,000 miles -
My buyout is cheaper than wholesale - You want it?

Just curious. If you were "satisfied" with every car, why did you sell them so quickly?

Default Chuck I quess you " Don't know Jack"

Sorry I could not resist.

I see your point. It must be nice to have the funds to buy so many different cars in such a short time.

Default This is how I "get to know" some of you dudes and dudettes. His story is interesting if not

complete BS, so I ask the questions in order to derive an opinion.

If you recall, I was the first to ask da3bous how he owned so many exotic cars. :-)

Default I was lucky ....

I had most of them for about a year, I had the Jag for 6 months.
I kept switching because I could - I wanted better
When I had the 530I, a friend had a 528 with a lease coming up and he took took over the 530I,
and I got the 540I which was wrecked when a tree fell on it, and I got the 740I. Someone in my office assumed that lease and I got the JAG.
The jag dealer called me about 6 months into the lease and advised someone wanted to order a car like mine, but the wanted to see and drive it 1st, and they didn't have anything in stock - could they drive mine......they bought mine.
The year I had the GS400 we had several snow storms and I got tired of calling a tow truck.
I decided to buy a "dependable" all wheel drive sports sedan.

Default Doesn't sound "lucky" to me. Luck is getting a car that you never get tired of and keep.......

Even if you can afford a new one all the time. That's why I've modified mine- great car but it needed a fresher look. That's lucky.
