Default If you had a choice

considering same price and condition, Would you go for 2004 A8L or 2004 A6 4.2? Why?

Default A6; size

Rear passengers are comfortable 'enough' and I sometimes need to park it downtown. Hard enough to find a spot for the A6 so anything bigger is out of the question. Make sure you'd pick the A8 for you and not for the passengers!

Default A6 4.2 because of size...

...the A6 is ideal for my purposes, and I do not ned the extra space that the A8 provides.

Of course, if a D3 W12 fell on my lap, I would not complain!!!

Default depends what you're looking for

The A8L has a ton of room. The A6 is mroe compact and I believe slightly lighter, but dont be fooled, the aluminum a8 is nto as much heavier as it is bigger. The a8l has the air suspension, which has its good and bad points.

Default I faced a similar decision. In the end, the A8 was too big (would not fit in garage)...

and, it was just no fun to drive compared to the A6.
