I don't blame you. The A6 isn't supposed to have manual steering. I hated it too.

You and my wife agreed. I loved it at speed, tolerated it when parking.

I would strongly recommend a 628..the perfect compromise. Light at low speed, tight on the fwy

me too. I pulled the 394 in my 2000, but kept the 628 on my 2003

I was under the impression that the servotronic units boosted power at low speeds but was virtually non-invasive at FWY speeds?

Has anyone verified power steering boost at FWY speeds? Is the steering wheel control much less sensitive at FWY speed without the servotronic?

Does anyone know if the 628 will work on all A6 models from 1998-04?

Any imput would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
