Default I would NEVER bring an axle in my house. That's why I heat my garage...

which is part of my house anyway.

Did you get a price from an Indy shop? I'm curious what they would charge.

Default I did mine last month with CV boots from PureMS

I used Kris' method as described in the technical section. I removed the upper control arm pinch bolt as well as the TRE pinch bolt. However, I have a 4.2 with aluminum knuckles which makes it a lot easier to remove the upper control arms. Approximately 2+ hours for the 1st side (cleaning the grease off the car/wheel), about 45 minutes for the 2nd one.

HTH and good luck. Make sure you have several rolls of paper towels handy

My garage (when I get one) will be my home-away-from-home!

Default I used Kris's method, with some of my own ideas

all around a good help when doing it for your first time.

Took me and a friend of mine who had the tools about 45 min and 30 for the other one, one month later.

Great write-up and very good pics.

Good luck to u

I pulled the axle. Took about 40 mins per side.

I had the same "spline" problem last on the last one I did--not fun!

Default I've got the air tools, picked up the flex extensions tonight, but still need the 12

pointer. Question: I fit a 8 mm hex-head in the 12 point head, so woudln't that mean I should get a 8mm 12 pointer? OR does it not work that way? Either way I'm heading to Sears tomorrow to see what they have, so let me know.

Thanks, I appreciate the suppory. I'm trying to ensure I've got everything I need ahead of time so I can bang the job out tomorrow night.
