If this is the first time your OEM grille is being removed, it can be very tricky - esp based on the quality of the after market grille you have purchased. After removing the OEM grille, you need play and wiggle the new grille in.
The way I swap my grilles in is by starting left to right. Insert the bottom left in first, followed by upper left and push the grille as far to the left as possible. Carefully and slowly start working the grille in (L to R) until you come close to the hood latch, with the right side still sticking out, here comes the tricky part - you sort of need to push down on the grille and up on the latch (up against the hood as far as it will go and try to maneuver it into the slot. If you are having too many problems, you can try modifying the new grille like I did. Where the slot for the hood latch is, I got a very sharp blade and cut some of the left side wall away, keeping both side walls but modifying the top of the one sidewall so it would be easier to just slide the hood latch in. Then work the right side of the grille in - it sounds more difficult than it is and once you are successful the first time, you'll see and know what I mean by all of the above.
The second and most simplest way is completely take off the hood latch assembly, insert grille, stick hood latch through new grille and re-bolt on hood latch assembly. lol Hope this helps you
