Insulated Spider/Spyder Hose Assembly Question

Insulated Spider/Spyder Hose Assembly Question
So, as you all know, I live in Southwest, PA and the past couple days we have been at single digit to sub-zero temperatures (w/ the windchill). Two days out of the last 7-8, my PCV valve/spider hose assembly moisture froze causing the ever-known thick white smoke and wasting 2 quarts of my oil (which I replaced of course!) lol
I started searching around for a new assembly and came across vast performance's insulated PCV/Spider assembly for the facelift C5's, wrote them an email asking if they or any one they know of supplied one for the pre-face and I have not heard back from them. I have done a lot of shopping around and can not find the insulated (which I think would do me a lot of justice over just replacing the OEM assembly) and can not find one. So as you may have guessed, my question regards to - did they never make one for the pre-face? & howcome? I know of course I can remove mine, clear it out really well and hope for the best and really that is going to be a short-term fix every winter. The PCV valve only froze once last year when it was -5F out so I didn't think much of the one time occurance.
My last question seeks the answer to why the 02+ facelift assembly would not work with my 2.7T Tip engine...was the 02+ really redesigned that much? Any answers would be great - and as always - thanks guys! I always appreciate your inputs/help.

Thanks Kris
also, I suppose that's a "no" to the insulated for the pre-face? haha I did just order the vented oil cap which should help relieve some of the pressure in the crank shaft until I choose a solution. Last couple days she hasn't frozen as our lows have been in the low 20s
