Default Interior adhesive question...

Unlike most of you, I'm a bit of a freak about the appearance of my Audi (ha ha). So freakish am I, that I didn't like the look of a gigantic white EZ-PASS frisbee/beacon on the interior windshield. So, before installing it, I painted it black - and replaced the provided white/clear velcro-looking stuff, with genuine black Velcro.

Only, now it appears I was too-freakish by half. The black velcro can't handle the DC heat and it won't stay stuck - leaving a nasty gooey mess. Same goes for the Speedpass device I've got in the rear window.

Does anyone here have a solution? I need something that'll stick to painted plastic on one side, glass on the other, and be removable...basically, I need black velcro that actually works...is there a specific brand or "type" I should look for?

Thanks, L.

Default Try 3M's Command adhesive strips. No surface damage. Easy remove.

Default Black, my man...I need black.

The white frisbee-effect is hideous!

You could go with the bumper mounted smart tag. The new one is smaller.

Default Find a shop that services the automotive paint industry (bodyshops). They should

be able to supply something that works.

I found the best thing. on ebay. toll sack. it has the audi logo that shows on the outside. black sack with suction cups that go on the windshield. have it next to the rear view(behind to the side).

Default ??? Removable ultimatly or repeatedly. I can provide you with some VeryHighBond acrylic tape in

black that will come off when selling, but would not work for on/off application. Shoot me an email.

Default You need to be able to remove it....I've replaced two already....there is a high heat velcro, but...

what's wrong with the milky velcro pieces they provide I wonder? I'm pretty fussy and didn't object to that. I know some folks hold it up to the windsheld when going through the toll so they don't have to mount it.
