Default Interior choices

Quick response appreciated. I just put my deposit up for an '01 A6 4.2 in Ming Blue. I've been driving myself nuts deciding on the interior. I opted for Tungsten gray with the Titanium trim. I'm after something that will look ultra-moderne for the next 3-4 years, as opposed to something that looks like the typical sport-lux...the wood trims ARE gorgeous. Has anyone else done the "Advance" interior? Got any photos or suggestions? I need to change my order pronto.

Default Tungsten Gray Advance is gorgeous

I have it in my Racing Green A6 and love it. Before ordering, I seriously considered the Onyx (now called Satin Black) Ambition interior, but found that the Tungsten Gray was less harsh, not as hot, and shows off the wood better. In addition, I prefer the horizontal stitch pattern in the Advance over the vertical pattern in the Ambition. As for the Melange Ambiente, I actually prefer the lighter wood but don't care for Melange; the 2-tone Vanilla/Black and Vanilla/Blue are both striking, but personally I don't think I could be happy with them over the long haul.

Ironically, after ordering I was VERY close to changing my exterior color from Racing Green to Ming Blue. To be honest, I personally prefer the Ming Blue, but was afraid of the quite unforgiving nature of such a dark color in terms of dirt and dust. I stayed with the Racing Green and have no regrets.

So, I personally think that you've chosen one of the very best color combos available on the A6. If "ultra-moderne" is what you seek, however, you may want to consider Vanilla/Royal Blue. I'll dig up my '99 A6 brochure and scan a photo of it, which I'll post separately.
mpuzach

Here's the Vanilla/Royal Blue A6 interior, taken from the 1999 brochure. You'll notice the wood-trimmed door over the radio. Other than that, this is what it would look like on a 2001 model.

Wow! That's intensely gorgeous too! *sigh*

Anderson-Behl (my local dealer) doesn't have any cars in Ming Blue or Nemo Blue for me to look at. They also only have two models indoors. The samples in the catalog and in their larger floor chip set don't do justice to the overall result.

Thanks so much for going the extra mile in sending me that pic!

Default Re: Tungsten Gray Advance is gorgeous - in fabric!

I have the Tungsten Gray too, in the fabric interior, not the
leather. It looks great, feels great, and costs about $2k less! And in the summer the fabric is definitely less sticky than leather.
My exterior is Tornado Red, by the way, which is really striking. (A6Q, 2.8)

I have never seen fabric in an A-6. I prefer cloth, can you post a picture?

Default Pls Post Photo-- I second that request

I will second that request for Photos. I asked my dealer and they said they had never had cloth interior here in FL. Hard to believe with our weather. Anyone in Central to West Central FL have Grey Cloth I could see sometime.
JB from FL

Default Here's a pic of the Tungsten Gray cloth interior

This is from the 1999 brochure. It's a great-looking cloth, very sporty. To the best of my knowledge, the 2001 cloth is identical to this. Note that for 2001, cloth is available ONLY in Tungsten Gray, in the Advance atmosphere; it's available with all A6 2.8 and 2.7T exterior colors.

Note the cloth trim on the inside door panels, between the arm rest and the wood trim. BTW, don't mind the door airbags in the photo. They're superimposed on the original to depict the new-for-1999 side airbags.

Best looking cloth interior I've ever seen.
